Now to returne again into the Ruines of the Abby observe the following monument with these Inscripcons also in Roman Capitall Letters, this is erected on the right side the high Altar, on the top whereof read STEMMA AMINAE GIBBON ALS GERALD FILIAE MILITIS ALBI [p. 116] Some read it Stemmae Aminae Gibbon filz Gerald filiae militis albi. The White Knight the Knight of Kerry so call’d was a descendent from Desmond. There was also another Knight of this Kingdome who went by ye name of ye Grey Knight. [...] The WHITE KNIGHT was one of the 3 naturall sons of Earle Desmond the other two were ye Knight of the Glin & the Knt of Kerry [pp. 115-116] |
