2 volumes (1837, 1838). Appeared in the Heath's Picturesque Annual series. Description and travel, nineteenth-century Ireland. Details of towns, cities, landscapes, antiquities and people. The author (Leitch Ritchie) was accompanied by artists (Daniel Maclise and Thomas Creswick) for the duration of his travels; the engravings which illustrate the text are based on their work. Includes an 'Advertisement', a four-page preamble, preceding the main body of the text which itself comprises seventeen chapters. |
