Biographical Notes	Isaac Taylor the Elder (1730-1807) began his career as a copper caster and goldsmith, then devoted himself to engraving, particularly illustrations. He was the secretary of the Incorporated Society of Artists and took part in their exhibitions. Father to five children, including the engravers Charles Taylor (1756-1823) and Isaac Taylor the Younger (1759-1829). He also drew and painted portraits.
