In the middle distance there is a hamlet among fields. The main feature of the foreground is a Martello tower on a rocky outcrop by the road.<br><br>Six Martello towers were built along the stretch of coast from Killiney to Bray, in 1804-1806. If this image is accurate, and given the absence of other towers, the one depicted should logically be the first tower north of Bray Head itself, that is, the now vanished tower at Mountpark.
