Ennis its South East Prospect

View of Ennis from the south-east. Letters A, B and D, and an explanatory key above the image, draw attention to three salient buildings. The Franciscan Friary, marked as ‘The Abby Church’, with its roofless chancel, is seen on the right against a background of hills. A substantial mansarded building near the centre is identified as the principal inn, while in front of it is the courthouse. They are surrounded by numerous buildings, both large and small. Further buildings, some crenellated, are set among hills in the foreground.
