| Description of Travel Account |
Collection of letters composed during a residence in Dublin and excursions to the south of Ireland in 1775. The letters are preceded by an 'Advertisement', indicating that the purpose of the volume is to hasten the time when ‘the value of Ireland will be better understood, and when the maxims, on which it is now governed, will be found to be too narrow, if not illiberal’. The letters are of various nature, addressing Irish history, politics, costumes, art etc. An Appendix with the title ‘An Account of some antique Curiosities found in a small bog near Cullen' concludes the volume. |
