| Biographical Notes | Samuel Fisher was active for about two decades, contributing plates to high quality topographical collections and other works. Among these were Turner’s Picturesque views in England and Wales (1827-38) and his Annual Tour. The Seine (1835), T.H. Shepherd’s Modern Athens! Displayed in a series of views: Or Edinburgh in the nineteenth century (1829-31), The Landscape Annual (1832), L. Ritchie’s Wanderings by the Seine (1835) and his Ireland Picturesque and Romantic (1837-38), Finden’s Illustrations of the life and works of Lord Byron (1833) and his Royal Gallery of British Art (1840-51), and G. Cattermole’s Evenings at Haddon Hall: A series of romantic tales of the olden times (1846). Fisher was a member of the Royal Academy, the Royal West of England Academy, and the Pastel Society.
