Biographical Notes	Reproductive stipple engraver, pupil of Robert Thew, worked in London and Paris during the first half of the nineteenth century. Engraved mainly portraits including some after Lawrence, Haines and Craig. In 1829 he was in partnership with John West Cook, London-road, Surrey, engraver. The British Museum record for Henry Richard Cook groups him with ‘H. Cook’ and ‘H Cooke’, pending further clarification, but notes that they may be other engravers, possibly related.
