| About 15,000 acres of land passed under our review today, being the most extensive inspection we have yet made. There is little variety in the quality of the Lands; notwithstanding the immence area, – the greater part consisting of mountain pasture, and sound Bog: but six or seven good stock farms could be formed here. Highland Cattle is the kind of stock best suited to the localities, but in some instances, Dairy Cows might be kept. A good trunk road runs through the district, with a few relief branches diverging from it, and these could be cheaply continued to the sites of the buildings necessary for the Tenants. [pp. 42-43] |
